The car's body was reshaped by Joe Wilhelm to include a chopped top, a one-piece windscreen, and a hand-crafted grille. First Jaguar XF Police Cars go on Duty in the UK

Previsto para chegar no Brasil no primeiro trimestre de 2010, o Jaguar XJ foi apresentado ontem (09/07) em Londres.

A produ��o do novo Jaguar XJ come�a em Setembro, coincidindo com a sua primeira apari��o p�blica, no Sal�o de Frankfurt, na Alemanha, enquanto as primeiras entregas est�o agendadas para o in�cio de 2010.

Apesar de l� fora ter alguns modelos a diesel de 3.0 V6 com 275 cavalos de pot�ncia, aqui no Brasil ele s� vir� com motores a gasolina, um V8 de 5.0 litros Supercharged com 470 cavalos que acelera de 0 a 100 km/h em 5,2 segundos.

Ele � o primeiro modelo da marca a ter a nova gera��o de carro�arias de arquitetura em alum�nio, inspirada na ind�stria aeroespacial.

Em tecnologia tem destaque a suspens�o pneum�tica, a suspens�o din�mica adaptativa, o controle ativo do diferencial e dire��o vari�vel, que reduz o esfor�o nas manobras de estacionamento e, ao mesmo tempo melhora a precis�o e resposta a alta velocidade.

Na Europa, o modelo tem pre�o inicial equivalente a R$ 170 mil, enquanto a top custa o equivalente a R$ 280 mil.

De acordo com o site alem�o Auto Telegraaf, a marca brit�nica quer uma grande apresenta��o no mercado americano por meio de sua maior mostra automotiva.

Este superesportivo ter� sob seu cap� um motor V8 de 5.0 litros Supercharged de 500 cavalos de pot�ncia. O sed� XF � vendido no mercado brasileiro desde junho, a partir de R$ 278 mil, na vers�o equipada com motor 3.0 litros V6 de 243 cavalos. Por R$ 319 mil, encontra-se o XF com propulsor 4.2 V8. Jaguar antigo bate recorde pre�o em leil�o

Um comprador pagou 2,2 milh�es de libras (mais de R$ 7 milh�es) pelo carro esportivo Jaguar D-Type de 1955 em leil�o promovido nesta sexta-feira (11) no Festival Goodwood de Velocidade, em Chinester, na Inglaterra. Foi o maior pre�o que a casa de leil�es Bonhams alcan�ou na venda de um Jaguar. O recorde anterior era de 1,7 milh�o de libras (R$ 5,44 milh�es), estabelecido em 1999.

O carro com chassis 'XKD509' foi o primeiro modelo D-Type produzido pela Jaguar em 1955.

Na �poca, o comprador pagou por ele 2,5 mil libras (R$ 8 mil). Com motor 3.4 litros, o Jaguar D-Type de 1955 participou de corridas em Sebring e Elkhart Lake, nos Estados Unidos.

Al�m do Jaguar, outros carros antigos foram leiloados no evento, alcan�ando um volume de neg�cios de 6 milh�es de euros. O leil�o durou seis horas e teve aproveitamento de 71% dos produtos oferecidos.

Um Invicta 4 �-litre S-Type Tourer �Scimitar� alcan�ou tamb�m um recorde em leil�es ao ser arrematado por 419,5 mil libras (R$ 1,34 milh�o). Uma Ferrari F40GTM Berlinetta de 1990 foi vendida por 183 mil libras (584 mil), e um Le�n Boll�e de 1905, que pertenceu ao rei da B�lgica, saiu por 133,5 mil libras (R$ 426 mil).

New 2008 Jaguar XF

Sporting a coupe-like profile but fitted with 4 doors, the XF is a four-door Jaguar that fuses the style and performance of a sports car with the refinement, space and comfort of a luxury saloon.

The new XF will be available with a choice of four engines, all featuring Jaguar's six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted 'paddles' for manual gear selection (JaguarSequential Shift):
- 2.7-litre V6 twin-turbocharged diesel: 0-100kph in 8.2secs and a top speed of 230km/h
- 3.0-litre V6 petrol: 0-100kph in 8.3secs and a top speed of 238km/h
- 4.2 V8 petrol: 0-100kph in 6.5 secs and will top out at an electronically limited 250km/h
- 4.2 Supercharged V8 petrol: 0-100kph in 5.4 secs with a top speed electronically limited to 250km/h.


Jaguar craftsmanship adopts a sharp new edge on the XF. Sophisticated instrumentation, a Touch-screen, modern materials and graphics complement new 'surprise and delight' features. Upon entry into the XF, the start button pulses red, like a heartbeat. Start the engine and the JaguarDrive Selector rises into the palm of the hand, while rotating vents turn from their flush, 'parked' position to their functional open position.

Key driving aids on the XF include Electronic Brake Assist, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Anti-lock Braking System, Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, and Engine Drag Torque Control. And, for the first time in a Jaguar, Understeer Control Logic which decelerates the car and helps to restore grip to the front wheels when required.

There are three levels of audio system, all controlled through the Touch-screen. The top-of-the-range Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) 440w Premium Sound System option offers extraordinary clarity and faithful sound reproduction. Designed and tuned for the XF by Bowers & Wilkins, the surround-sound system delivers a powerful and vivid performance.
Boot capacity is a generous 540 litres despite the swoopy profile.

Fans of the luxury marque will be able to get their hands on this sleek and sporty 4-door coupe beginning March 2008 in Europe with other world markets to follow later.
