Aston Martin has officially unveiled a sketch of the Vantage GT2 racing car that is based on the V8 Vantage.

The Vantage GT2 can run on either racing fuel or E85 bio-ethanol. The new introduction of the GT2 means that Aston Martin will now have a GT car in every racing category (GT1 � DBR9, GT2 � Vantage GT2, GT3 � DBRS9, GT4 � Vantage N24).

The Vantage GT2 will be officially unveiled next week at the Autosport International Show

Aston Martin unveiled the most eagerly anticipated car of the year the new Aston Martin DBS at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 16th 2007, where the company took a starring role as the featured marque.

Aston Martin DBS V12 Engine

At the heart of the DBS is a 6.0-litre V12 engine. The DBR9 and DBRS9 race cars are powered by an enhanced version of this same V12, tuned to produce in excess of 600hp. This model develops 380kW or 510hp, and the full vital statistics are as follows:

Pricing includes a $3,000 gas-guzzler tax and a $1,350 destination charge. The V12 Vantage will go on sale here in the fourth quarter of 2010, according to Aston Martin.
