Suzuki Alto Review

 Design, comfort and convenience

The new Suzuki Alto has a sporty, solid look that exudes urban energy despite the compact dimensions of the body. The design is elegant and beautiful thanks to aerodynamically efficient contours that combine tautness with evocative curviness. It is ideally suited to European tastes and with a drag coefficient of just 0.30 promotes fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions.

The use of sharing space more space for the front seats, but still offers plenty of space for four adults. Compartment for small items conveniently located inside the cab. Notwithstanding the new Alto, compact exterior dimensions, there is a useful amount of luggage behind the rear seats and folding rear seat backrest is expanding space, a spacious luggage compartment is suitable for everyday use.

Performance and environmental compatibility

The new Suzuki Alto is powered by a three-cylinder 1.0 liter gasoline has successfully launched as an engine of the Suzuki Splash. This unit is lightweight and compact with low friction properties. Maximum power output is 68PS (50kW) with maximum torque of 90 nm. Fuel consumption is low at 62.7 mpg combined cycle and CO2 emissions are just 103g/km. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed automatic transmission (uncommon among one-liter cars) with gate-type shifter is available.

Suspension

The front suspension is MacPherson strut and the great, under suspension with high rigidity is added to capacity in the areas of leg assembly for superior handling. The rear suspension has Suzuki proprietary 3-link rigid axle design, and contains many improvements for the new car. The coil springs and dampers were tuned for optimum handling stability through extensive testing on roads in Europe.

Suzuki targeted handling that makes driving enjoyable on urban roads, so drivers enjoy linear response, gentle roll movements, light steering feel, and good absorption of shock and vibration. These benefits reflect the experience Suzuki has gained in motorsport around the world.

The new Suzuki Alto has a minimum turning radius of only 4.5 million, it is easy to maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Security

To help the driver avoid hazards on the road, the new Suzuki Alto is available with Electronic Stability Program (ESP ), which modulates the engine performance and applies the brakes during cornering and accelerators.

In an unfortunate incident, the new Suzuki Alto's body reflects Suzuki's Total effective control technology (in particular, to protect) the concept in the form of a deformable structure to absorb impact energy, the elements that disperse the energy of the frame shock away from passengers and a strong cabin structure. Using a high-quality steel for most of the body means the resulting high level of occupant safety does not add body weight.

SRS front airbags, side and curtain are available to reduce the severity of impacts suffered by occupants in a collision. Energy-absorbing trim materials protect the head more.

The new engine is also 20 percent cleaner than the 2008 model in terms of assessing the state of California smog index. Improve the performance of any road structure was established in 2009, and rear disc brakes, which replace the previous battery.

Suzuki four-wheel drive modes offers the best of both worlds: the most helped by a completely retuned suspension, is exceptionally capable off road, but it is civilized on the asphalt. On the road, drivers can leave the switch in the dash box of 4H and the electronically controlled on-demand four-wheel drive system will apply traction to the front wheels only when necessary, the economic optimization. When traveling off the road or the low speed power and traction, the driver can activate the hold switch high range or low range 4H 4L Lock to engage the center differential. The V6 four-mode full-time four-wheel drive also feature Hill Descent Control and Hill Hold Control, which can improve safety when driving on steep slopes.

Suzuki Grand Vitara Suzuki continues 40-year heritage of building compact, yet rugged SUV-type, including a model named "Brute." The current Grand Vitara has proven its durability in some of the most difficult global markets. The key to the Grand Vitara is mat is its ability to unibody construction with integrated ladder frame, rear-wheel drive transmission and based four-wheel independent suspension. Typically, the luxury SUVs offer this premium architecture. This construction gives strength and capabilities sought in large SUVs, while providing the agility on the road and ride quality expected in a modern compact SUV.

It also separates the Suzuki Grand Vitara from the "high wagons" in the segment is the availability of a four-mode four-wheel full two-tier system transfer case. This material, along with its robust body approach and departure angles steeper, and 7.9 inches of ground clearance (4WD models), enables the Grand Vitara to keep going when the road becomes a trail. In addition, the Suzuki Grand Vitara 3000 lbs. towing capacity (with V6) is double that of many car-based models and light enough to carry the boats, ATVs and motorcycles.

2011 Suzuki Kizashi Sport Review

Almost perfect combination of design, performance and value of all do Kizashi robust, and economical car for anyone. And in addition to the sports package, we believe that Dave Arbogast bit 'of style and additional benefits make Kizashi more attractive.

Parties make a similar threshold with extensions and chrome strip show and receives a simple decklid spoiler. Inside, there is a sports steering wheel and contrast stitching throughout the cabin. All of this is the property of the suspension is sure to make Kizashi fun, attractive car.

This was a bit 'expected after General Motors and Suzuki separated, and V6 power plant is likely to come from GM. Prices are not announced until Kizashi Sport will go on sale in July.

We have always left impressed by the taut body control and precise handling presented by Suzuki Kizashi mid-size sedan, but a new model - the 2011 Sport Kizashi - promises a driving experience even more.

Unique 18-inch wheels are two pounds lighter than before, and engineers Kizashi features a revised suspension tuning, which lowers the ride height by 10 mm.

The suspension changes, it seems, is the measure of the modernization of the mechanical systems for the gifted Kizashi Sport. The power always comes with a 2.4-liter DOHC I-4, which is rated at 185 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. A six-speed manual transmission is standard but a continuously variable transmission is optional (and mandatory in all-wheel drive is ordered). Choose CVT reduces engine power to 180 horses.

Inside Kizashi Sport receives some unique features, including revision of the front sport seats with perforated leather on the steering wheel. Buyers must choose the black leather seats, contrasting stitching added to the shift boot and parking brake boot and the seats themselves.

Suzuki has not yet determined the price of the model, but we expect to hit the sport to carry a modest price increase of $ 23.234 and $ 25.134 base price of the GTS and SLS, respectively. Look for additional information when the cars arrive at retailers nationwide in August 2010.

New Suzuki Swift Breaks Cover: No Really, It's a Completely New Model

We know many of you will have a hard time believing us just by looking at these photos, but this is not a facelift of any sort; it's actually the all-new generation of the Suzuki Swift and it was unveiled today at the firm's Magyar Suzuki Corporation production facility at Esztergom, in Hungary.

Evidently there's not much to say about the 2010 Swift's exterior styling. We can understand Suzuki's "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality to a certain extent - the current Swift is one of best-looking cars in the segment in our opinion- but a fresher approach would have been welcome.

There are no official photos of the interior, but some leaked cell phone pics on the net suggest that the dashboard and center console design of the car are heavily inspired by the Suzuki Kizashi sedan.

SCOOP: New Suzuki Swift Spied at the Nurburgring

Our spy photographers have scooped the next generation of the Suzuki Swift supermini during testing at the Nurburgring race circuit in Germany.

Even though the Japanese automaker's people did a pretty good job of bagging the prototype, it's not hard to see that the new Swift will keep its MINI-like design feel. However, the pictures suggest that it will boast larger and more prominent head- and tail lamps.

We don't have any details about the powertrain options, but buyers should expect a range of mainstream four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a more potent unit for the flagship Sport model.

Test Review: Suzuki SX4 Sedan

The Suzuki Swift was a good and successful - reintroduction of the small car makers presence back to Malaysia. It looked good, drove well and sold in good numbers too. So when Suzuki Automobiles Malaysia (SMA) introduced a slightly larger and taller crossover hatch in the form of the SX4, powered by a 1.6L (instead of the Swifts1.5), I wasnt really taken in, more so with its rather quirky A-pillars section, window with up-curved border et al.

Just last month, SMA was at it again, this time serving to broaden its car models range. With a boot added the SX4, Suzuki is now traversing into the dominant territory of the ubiquitous Toyota Vios, Honda City and to a certain extent, the Nissan Latio sedan. Honestly, I wasnt very convinced either, of another B-segment sedan in the vein of tall boy concepts of the City and Latio sedan.

Truth is, the silver metallic SX4 sedan didnt look disproportionate in the metal, unlike the pre-facelift City. Alright, the butt section is kind of J.Lo (the U.S. artiste, not our Jason Lo) or of Beyonces league but the tail lamps with some Audi A4 (B6) mimicry at its upper section did a little redemption of the slimming kind (read: disguises the bulk).

After a few days of driving around, I discovered theres more to like about this car than its RM88,888 (OTR excluding insurance) CBU-from-Japan sticker price. The standard bodykit are miles better than those found via Hondas Modulo (e.g. Stream) and Toyota (on its Altis) with none of the gap that needs black rubber lining to fill up to. The seats are way more generous and supportive than the other Desirable car, while the boot aces even the City at 515 litres capacity! Also unique to this segment is the SX4s Isofix child seat points (at the rear) and a proper engine coolant temperature gauge.

The SX4 is very easy and nice to chuck around. Body roll is quite minimal despite its lofty perch, while the steering is simply well-weighted for its class. Even the on-steering headunit controls are tactile and felt premium. The 8-speaker audio system is also acceptable quality for an OE system. Though not class leading in terms of power output (102bhp at 5600 rpm/ 140Nm at 4000rpm), this tall Suzuki compact sedan remains affably tractable with a good spread of low end torque, only found to be a wee bit bogged down after going over a speed bump driving up a gradient.

Credit has to be given to Suzuki for the firm (quite VW-like) but pliant ride of its suspension, while maintaining pretty good body control over varying surfaces and during load changes. In short, the car felt taut on the move and well-built dynamically. On a strip of private road, I managed 160km/h with ease, with minimal wind noise, road noise and engine note. Despite being paired to a 4-speed automatic, the engine ticks at slightly over 2700 rpm at 120km/h. And of course, the roof remained quiet during much of the heavy downpour over the last few days.

Fuel burning rate for this spacious little sedan is a respectable 11.2km/l average, on a mix of highways and suburb driving. The dashboard is simple with straightforward controls, while its automatic climate control a/c is also a first for its class and price point. Its tall and very cab-forward stance worked very well in efficient use of space and packaging. For example, there are bottle holders on all 4 door pockets and even the centre console.

At the end of the day, I couldnt fault the new Suzuki SX4 sedan muchwell perhaps just maybe its bi-pod A-pillar(s) and the somewhat quirky A-pillar window. The engine bay could look a little neater with perhaps, a better looking cam-cover et al. However, these do not detract from the fact that the SX4 drives - and rides - well enough for a simple tech car with a low cost goal to its existence. To those who are looking to buy a B-segment sedan, do not cross this out from your shopping list without a test drive!
